UPMC NORTHWEST ANNOUNCES MEDICAL STAFF OFFICERS August 4, 2006 —FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE CONTACT: CHRIS PORTER Family practitioner Peter Bendt, MD, is the new president of the UPMC Northwest medical staff, and nephrologist David Brooker, MD, is vice president. Dr. Bendt assumes the presidency from obstetrician/gynecologist William McGrail, MD, who has been president the past two years. Dr. Bendt has been a UPMC Northwest staff physician for 17 years and Dr. Brooker for nine years. Both officers will serve a two-year term that began July 1. Also on July
1, family practitioner Gerald Kahler, MD, and surgeon Matthew Lehman,
MD, began the second year of their two-year terms as Medicine Department
and Surgery Department chairmen.
