Hospital Foundation Appeal Supports Birthing Center

March 17, 2006 -- UPMC Northwest Foundation has launched its 2006 Annual Appeal that will benefit the hospital’s Family Birthing Center.

The foundation will assist the Birthing Center with acquisition of a state-of-the-art General Electric LOGIQ 3 ultrasound system that will help meet the health care needs of expectant mothers and their babies.

T he LOGIQ 3 system provides superior ultrasound images that give essential information to obstetricians and Family Birthing Center staff members. It is used most often at delivery: Birthing Center team members can evaluate the size and position of the baby and obtain other information that helps to assure a safe, healthy delivery.

Individuals can contribute to the appeal by making a check payable to UPMC Northwest Foundation and mailing it to the foundation office at 100 Fairfield Drive, Seneca, PA, 16346.
