NORTHWEST CARDIOLOGIST EARNS BOARD CERTIFICATION

Nat Sricharoen, MD |

2006 Medical/interventional cardiologist Nattapong
Sricharoen, MD, has earned board certification in interventional cardiology
from the American Board of Internal Medicine.
Dr. Nat is UPMC
Northwest’s first interventional cardiologist, and the first
doctor to perform cardiac catheterizations in the hospital’s
new Cardiac Catheterization Unit.
He also is board
certified in internal medicine and cardiology. Board certification
is indicative of advanced credentials in a physician’s specialty.
Dr. Nat graduated
from medical school is his native Thailand and has completed extensive
medical education in the U.S., including a residency in internal
medicine at Indiana University Medical Center in Indianapolis, a
cardiology fellowship at the University of Colorado Health Sciences
Center in Denver, and an interventional cardiology fellowship at
the Hospital of the University of Pennsylvania in Philadelphia.
He joined the
UPMC Northwest medical staff in September in conjunction with the
opening of the hospital’s Cardiac Catheterization Unit.
Both Dr. Nat’s
practice and UPMC Northwest’s Cardiac Catheterization Unit
are part of the UPMC Cardiovascular Institute at UPMC Northwest.
The institute makes UPMC Northwest part of UPMC’s cardiac
care program that is recognized nationally and internationally as
a center of cardiac diagnostic, treatment and research excellence.
