VNA,
CANCER SOCIETY TO OFFER
CANCER EDUCATION PROGRAM
April 13,
2005 The Visiting Nurses Association of Venango County
and the American Cancer Society will offer the cancer society’s
“I Can Cope” educational series during VNA’s next
several Cancer Support Group meetings.
I Can Cope is
for cancer patients, family members and others who wish to learn
more about living well with cancer.
All five meetings
will be at 7 pm the fourth Tuesday of the month beginning April
26 at Second Presbyterian Church, West First and Reed streets, Oil
City. Here is the schedule and the topics that will be addressed:
- April 26
– Learning About Cancer and Cancer Treatment, presented
by Barb Anderson, RN, UPMC Northwest oncology program manager.
- May 24 –
Relieving Cancer Pain, presented by Lynn Smith, RN, of VNA.
- June 28 –
Taking Charge of Money Matters, presented by attorney/financial
advisor Kemp Scales of Titusville.
- July 26 –
Nutritional Well Being, presented by Calvin and Paula Bickel,
owners of God’s Little Garden, a local health food store.
- August 23
– Celebration of Life, presented by VNA social workers Jane
Byham and Valerie Motter, who are I Can Cope facilitators.
