SOME
HOSPITAL FACILITIES STAYING
IN THEIR EXISTING LOCATIONS
Oct. 5, 2004
When the new UPMC Northwest hospital opens on Friday, these
hospital facilities and services will stay in their existing locations
or move to other sites:
- The Rehabilitation
Center – This inpatient rehabilitation unit will remain
on the second floor at the hospital’s Oil City campus.
- Transitional
Care Unit (TCU) – Will remain on the third floor at the
Oil City campus.
- Radiation
Oncology Unit – The hospital will provide radiation treatment
in the West Unit in Franklin until the new hospital radiation
oncology unit is finished, tentatively in December.
- Wound Clinic
– This facility has moved from the Franklin campus to the
former SurgiCare unit on the third floor at the Oil City campus.
- Outpatient
Rehabilitation Services – UPMC Northwest will continue to
provide outpatient physical and occupational therapy at its Outpatient
Physical Therapy and Sports Medicine Center, 112 Circle St., Franklin.
It also will provide outpatient physical, occupational and speech
therapy on the second floor at its Oil City campus, 174 E. Bissell
Ave.
- The Sleep
Center – This unit that specializes in evaluating sleep
disorders will remain in the West Unit in Franklin.
- Medication
Clinic – This outpatient service for behavioral health patients
will move on Monday, Oct. 18, from the Rowe Building at the Oil
City campus to the West Unit at the Franklin campus.
- Drug and
Alcohol Counseling – This outpatient behavioral health service
also will relocate October 18 from the Rowe Building in Oil City
to the West Unit in Franklin.
- Open MRI
Center – This facility that opened earlier this year along
Route 8 in Reno will continue to provide open MRI, CT and related
services.
- Family Practice
Center – All UPMC Northwest-affiliated family practice centers
– in Emlenton, Knox, Clarion and Grove City – will
remain open with the same services.
