HOSPITAL AUXILIARY AWARDS HEALTH CAREERS SCHOLARSHIPS

June 28, 2004 — UPMC Northwest Auxiliary has awarded scholarships to two area students who will pursue careers in health care. Recipients of the 2004 UPMC Northwest Auxiliary Health Careers Scholarships are:

Matthew Dempsey, a 2004 graduate of Oil City High School, who will major in physical therapy at Saint Francis University;

Kristen Clark of Oil City, who will pursue a health careers major at Clarion University.

Each student is awarded $1,000 from the auxiliary, which provides these scholarships with funds it receives from the Maude Gnade Trust. Mrs. Gnade was a wealthy Oil City resident whose trust will provide funds to the auxiliary, UPMC Northwest and several other organizations for as long as they exist.
