HOSPITAL STAFF MEMBERS TAKE PART
IN MEDICAL MISSION TRIP

March 31, 2004 — Four UPMC Northwest employees and one retiree were members of a team that took part a two-week medical mission trip to the Andes Mountains of Ecuador.

The group including hospital employees Rina Anderson, Cathy Coleman and Mary Jane Daugherty, VNA staff member Karen Hudock, and hospital retiree Mary Ann Kaminske were part of an Evangelism Task Force mission team that helped to meet residents’ spiritual, medical and pharmacy needs in the South American nation that straddles the Equator.

One component of their mission work was a project known as Happy Feet, which involved washing children's feet and outfitting them with new socks and shoes.
This was the fourth trip to Ecuador for a UPMC Northwest medical mission team, which received fund-raising and other assistance from co-workers Judi Eddinger, Nancy Horne, Lee Moody and Charlene Rudisille in preparation for the trip.
