NORTHWEST NAMES CHIEF NURSING OFFICER
Jan. 29,
2004 Linda Dudjak, RN, PhD, CHE, has been named vice
president of patient care services and chief nursing officer at
UPMC Northwest.
Dr. Dudjak oversees
all functions of the hospital’s nursing department, which
includes more than 250 registered nurses and other clinical staff.
Dr. Dudjak has
30 years of experience as a clinician, educator, and administrator
in both community and academic health care. During that time, she
has held various clinical and administrative positions with the
University of Pittsburgh Medical Center, the University of Pittsburgh
Cancer Institute (UPCI), the Joint Radiation Oncology Center, and
Shadyside Hospital.
The Pittsburgh
native also was a faculty member at Shadyside Hospital School of
Nursing and in the graduate program of the University of Pittsburgh
School of Nursing.
Dr. Dudjak holds a bachelor’s degree in nursing from LaRoche
College in Pittsburgh, and both a master’s degree and a doctorate
in nursing from the University of Pittsburgh.
In conjunction with her career in clinical and academic nursing,
she has published articles and presented lectures regionally on
topics related to oncology and selected health care issues.
She is an adjunct
faculty member with the University of Pittsburgh School of Nursing,
and is a member of Sigma Theta Tau, the Association of Nurse Executives,
and
the Oncology Nursing Society. She also is certified by the American
College of Health Care Executives (ACHE).
In addition
to her duties at UPMC Northwest, Dr. Dudjak is vice president of
patient care services at UPMC Horizon, where she is responsible
for clinical operations at the hospitals in Greenville and Farrell.
Her community
activity includes membership on the Thiel College Board of Associates
and the board of trustees of the Penn Northwest Development Corp.
