ORGANIZATIONS
SET WOMEN’S HEALTH SEMINAR IN OIL CITY
“Especially
For Women” will be the theme for an upcoming women’s
health seminar in Oil City.
UPMC Northwest,
Venango-Forest Cancer Coalition and Adagio Health have organized
the free event, which is set Thursday, Oct. 25, in Rhoades Center
at Clarion University-Venango Campus, 1801 W. First St. Doors will
open at 4 pm and the program will get under way at 5:30 pm. A buffet
dinner is included.
The event will
include blood pressure, blood glucose, cholesterol, stroke and osteoporosis
screenings, exhibits by local health care organizations, and a door
prize drawing. For the glucose and cholesterol screenings, a three-hour
fast is required.
Skin cancer
screenings will be available on a first come, first served basis.
Speakers will
include obstetrician/gynecologist Eric Fackler, MD, of the UPMC
Northwest medical staff, surgeon Charles Brown, MD, PhD, of UPMC’s
Hillman Cancer Center in Pittsburgh, and Nancy Yergin, MS, RD, LDN,
of the Forest County office of Penn State Extension. They will address
several topics including women’s health, skin cancer and nutrition.
Advance registration
is required. Registrations are limited and are being
accepted on a first come, first served basis. Women can sign up
