BRINGING TOGETHER CLARION COUNTY PRACTICES
UPMC Northwest
has announced plans to bring together its two Clarion County practices
in Clarion. Effective Tuesday, Sept. 4, UPMC Northwest will combine
the staff members and services of Koenig Family Practice-UPMC (Knox)
and Clarion Family Practice-UPMC (Clarion) at the Clarion location,
342 S. Fifth Ave.
Board-certified
family practitioner David Zlotnicki, MD, and the Koenig staff will
see patients at the Knox facility, 334 N. Main St., until Tuesday,
Aug. 28.
When the Knox
and Clarion offices come together, patients of both practices will
have access to a second physician, and Koenig patients will be able
to obtain on-site x-ray services, according to board-certified family
practitioner Randy Kreider, MD, of Clarion Family Practice-UPMC.
The consolidation
also will make Koenig Family Practice-UPMC part of an award-winning
practice. The Clarion facility currently holds a Gold Star Award
from UPMC’s Physician Services Division for “consistently
providing outstanding customer service and patient satisfaction,”
according to UPMC.
Due to its Clarion
location, the combined Knox-Clarion practice will keep the name
Clarion Family Practice-UPMC. The practice will offer the same services
that both traditionally have provided including routine office visits,
well baby and child care, immunizations, periodic physical examinations,
basic laboratory services, screening mammography, treatment of acute
and chronic illness, and treatment for minor emergencies.
While UPMC Northwest
no longer will have a practice in Knox, “we still will offer,
through our new location in Clarion, the same services and the same
level of care that we always have,” Dr. Zlotnicki says. “Patients
also will gain access to x-ray services at the Clarion office, and
that will be an added benefit of our move.”
Dr. Zlotnicki
says he has “enjoyed getting to know Knox area residents,
providing care for them, and being part of the community, and I
want to thank them for entrusting their health care to me and my
staff. It has been a great pleasure to practice in Knox, and I’m
eager now to join forces with Dr. Kreider and his staff in Clarion
and work with them to meet our patients’ needs.”
Dr. Kreider
says he also is looking forward to the addition of Dr. Zlotnicki
and the other three Koenig staff members – Sheryl Neely, RN,
Kelly Fabry, LPN, and office assistant Susan Marie Greenlee –
to the Clarion practice. “Bringing our caregivers together
will give us a better health care team than we’ve ever had,
and that’s a plus for our patients,” Dr. Kreider says.
Dr. Zlotnicki
has been a UPMC Northwest staff physician for 11 years, all at Koenig
Family Practice-UPMC. Dr. Kreider has been a member of the UPMC
Northwest medical staff for 16 years, including the past three years
at the Clarion office.
Patients of
Koenig Family Practice-UPMC who wish to obtain care from Dr. Zlotnicki
in the new location needn’t take any action: their records
will be transferred to the Clarion practice, Dr. Zlotnicki said.
Those who wish to begin obtaining care from another primary care
physician can obtain their records by contacting the Knox facility
at 814-797-1126.
Appointments at Clarion Family Practice-UPMC are available from
8:30 am to 5 pm weekdays. Dr. Zlotnicki will see patients until
7 pm Monday, and Dr. Kreider offers extended hours until 7 pm Tuesday.
Knox area residents
who need transportation to the Clarion location can arrange a ride
by calling Clarion County Transportation at 814-226-7012 or toll-free
1-800-672-7116.
