AUXILIARY AWARDS HEALTH CAREERS SCHOLARSHIPS
UPMC Northwest
Auxiliary has awarded scholarships to three area students who will
pursue careers in health care. Recipients of the 2007 UPMC Northwest
Auxiliary Health Careers Scholarships are:

Erika Gould,
a 2007 graduate of Redbank Valley High School (New Bethlehem,
Clarion County), who will attend Clarion University and plans
to become a pharmacist. Erika is the daughter of Marty and Judy
Gould of New Bethlehem. |

Ryan Heasley,
a member of the Oil City High School class of 2007, who will
major in health sciences at Penn State Behrend in Erie. Ryan
is the son of John and Lisa Heasley of Oil City. |

Joseph
Sporer, a 2007 graduate of Venango Catholic High School, who
will attend St. Vincent College in Latrobe in pursuit of a career
in pharmacy. Joseph is the son of Joseph and Andree Sporer of
Franklin. |
Each student
will receive $1,000 from the auxiliary, which provides the scholarships
with funds it receives from the Maude Gnade Trust. Mrs. Gnade was
a wealthy Oil City resident whose trust will provide funds to the
auxiliary, UPMC Northwest, and several other organizations for as
long as they exist.
