FAMILY PRACTITIONER TO JOIN UPMC NORTHWEST STAFF AUGUST 1
July 12, 2007 Board certified family practitioner Veronica Santee, MD, will join the UPMC Northwest medical staff August 1.
Dr. Santee will practice with board certified family practitioners Norman K. Beals III, MD, and Bradley Fell, MD, at Seneca Medical Center.
The addition of Dr. Santee and board certified family practitioner Frederick R. Krueger, DO, to the Seneca practice later this summer coincide with a construction project that will greatly expand the practice’s offices along Route 257 in Seneca. The addition will include several exam/treatment rooms, new referral area and a centralized nurses’ station.
Dr. Santee is coming here from Wexford, where she practiced the past three years with Franklin Park Family Practice and was a staff physician at Sewickley Valley Hospital. The New Jersey native holds a bachelor’s degree in biology from New York University and a degree in medicine from New York University School of Medicine.
Dr. Santee is a former Army major who completed a medical internship and residency at Madigan Army Medical Center at Fort Lewis, Washington. While on active duty, she also practiced at Bayne-Jones Army Community Hospital at Fort Polk, Louisiana.
Dr. Santee has special interests in preventive medicine and women’s health.
She is certified by the American Board of Family Practice. Board certification is indicative of advanced credentials in a doctor’s specialty.
Dr. Santee, her husband David Ferraro, MD (colorectal surgeon who also will join the UPMC Northwest staff this summer) and their sons, Travis, 9, David, 5, and daughter Rosalynne, 3½, reside in Franklin.
