VNA NAMES PRIVATE DUTY MANAGER
April 12,
2007 Kenton Cornmesser, RN, is the new manager of VNA Private Duty.
Mr. Cornmesser holds an associate’s degree in nursing from Clarion University and will earn an associate’s degree in business later this year from the University of Pittsburgh at Titusville.
He has a combined 23 years of experience in nursing and health care information systems including the past six years in Information Systems at UPMC Northwest and VNA, four years with Philadelphia area-based Siemens Medical Systems, and three years at Titusville Hospital. His career in direct patient care has included more than 10 years of service in emergency medicine and intensive care at the former Franklin and Oil City hospitals, Titusville Hospital, and Hamot Medical Center in Erie.
“Kenton will lend his experience with home health and information systems, his familiarity with private duty staff, and his leadership to this position, and he’ll do a great job,” says VNA Chief Executive Officer Pat Kaufman, RN, FACHE.
“I believe we will continue to see an increase in the need for home care services as the population ages, and private duty services will play an important role,” Mr. Cornmesser says. “I appreciate the opportunity to work with other community agencies in helping Venango County residents to maintain a satisfactory quality of life in their own homes and in their own community.”
The new manager oversees a staff of 78 employees who provide private duty nursing, home attendant, and housekeeping services for area residents.
