UPMC Northwest Announces Certifications, Appointment
April 2, 2007 — UPMC Northwest has announced the board certification of two staff doctors and the appointment of a new manager. Family practitioners Bruce Jansen, MD, and R. Donald McAfee, MD, of Franklin Community Health Care Associates have earned recertification from the American Board of Family Practice. Board certification is indicative of advanced credentials in a physician’s specialty.
Dr. Jansen has been a UPMC Northwest staff physician for two years and Dr. McAfee for 26 years. T. Lee Kunselman is the hospital’s new Environmental Services manager. Mr. Kunselman holds a bachelor’s degree in management from Slippery Rock University and has been a UPMC Northwest staff member for 16 years, including eight years as an activities therapist in Behavioral Health and the past eight years as Environmental Services supervisor.
He holds certification as a health care environmental services manager from the Center for Healthcare Environmental Management, and is the first member of the UPMC Northwest staff to earn this credential. Mr. Kunselman assumes his new management responsibilities Monday, April 2, when Jim Curran retires after almost 45 years of service with the hospital.
