Foundations
and Development
Two foundations
that are independent of UPMC Northwest provide financial support
for the activities of the organization's hospital
and visiting
nurse services.
UPMC Northwest Foundation
The sole purpose
of the UPMC Northwest Foundation is to support UPMC Northwest in
its mission to provide high-quality health care for area residents.
Funds from the foundation exclusively support UPMC Northwest.
Among the foundation's
most visible projects are:
- its annual
appeal, through which it receives funds for new equipment and
other capital projects
- development
of an endowment to cover future capital costs for UPMC Northwest
- provision
of grants for current capital projects and health awareness, prevention,
and education programs
The foundation
provided 144 acres of land for construction of UPMC Northwest's
new hospital in Seneca, made a multi-million
dollar contribution toward development and construction costs,
designated the proceeds of two annual appeal fund-raising campaigns
for equipment
and/or services not included in the construction budget, and launched
the Branching Out campaign that produced
gifts
of more than 200 trees to beautify the new hospital grounds.

Venango
Visiting Nurses Association Foundation
The foundation
is responsible for fundraising and financial development for the
Visiting Nurses Association (VNA) of Venango County. The foundation's
goal is to ensure that VNA services are available to any Venango
County area resident who needs them. This goal is accomplished through
the procurement and management of funds to cover the VNA's expenses
and support programs and services that fulfill the VNA mission.
